I love it when cool new technology applications for simple, existing, “always been there” stuff is announced. It makes me happy.

Recently, something as simple as salt — yeah, the stuff you sprinkle all over your food while someone gives you the “you shouldn’t do that” look — was discovered to improve the storage capacity of hard drives. Not just a little but… SIX FOLD!
