Rediscovering Reading!
September 29, 2011Could You Salt My Hard Drive, Please?
October 20, 2011I just started using a great little finance program on October 1st. It’s not the first time I’ve tried to get a handle on my spending and track it. It is, however, the first time it’s been so blasted easy!
I’m using TheBirdy.com and have never had an easier time keeping up with every cent I spend. I can log in to add receipts at the end of the day, or I can send emails to update my account (The Birdy even sends me a reminder to do so each day — at a time I specify).
There’s no complex set-up process, no manuals to read, no hassle. If you are trying to track your own spending — give it a whirl. I think you will become addicted to the simplicity of this approach.
It’s a freebie, too – the creator made it to make his own financial tracking easier and then was kind enough to share it with the rest of the world. Thanks, Corey! (I really appreciate you and your cool little program.)

Thanks so much for the great review! If you started on the 1st, that means you’ve got a really strong streak going. I just learned it usually takes 20 days to make it a habit. Keep it up!
@zoe @angela I’m glad you find it “almost” fun! 🙂 That’s so important to me! Please let me know if you think of anything that could make it more fun. We’re working on some ideas, but…
Thank you so much! Tracking my spending is actually one of my goals this month (again) and mint.com is just so labor intensive. This is like an Excel spreadsheet, but they do the calculations for you. Plus…it makes it fun, which is a HUGE incentive to actually do it. Wooh!
I have tried several online and offline tools over the years (including mint) and, like you, find thebirdy.com as close to “fun” as tracking finances can get! 😉
