In my recent research on hoarding (for a real estate article I was writing, not my own battle with clutter — although the research gave me pause and made me wonder), an expert on hoarding wrote something that I found quite thought provoking (and true).
He said that the value of each individual personal possession is lessened by each additional item.
I’ve thought that before, without such clarity. I know that I appreciate what I have when I have less and I appreciate everything less when I have more.
Just another reason to go for the gusto as I clean and clear!
